Joshua is the 6th book in the Bible and the 6th book in the Old Testament. It is also known as the first book of Deuteronomistic History, containing the story of Israel, from the period of their conquest of Canaan through to Babylonian exile.
Though it may have been a scribe under his guidance, many believe that it was Joshua who penned the majority of the book because of the first-hand experiences illustrated. Charles R. The name Joshua means “Yahweh saves.”
